The 30-minute seminars will introduce participants to the range of renewable energy systems available, the availability of grants and funding, and how each technology can be applied. Each participant will be given a link to the secure seminar area which will include a presentation, hosted by Sean Collier of Access Renewables. Participants can also use the seminar to ask questions in a more informal setting.

Sean Collier of Access Renewables comments “We’ve been looking for a way to engage with our potential customers, and particularly those who are in the early stages of looking for a renewable energy system and installer. Almost all of our domestic customers seek assistance and guidance prior to choosing a system and so by offering our expert knowledge and opinions at a relatively early stage, our customers can make a more of an informed decision.”

The company is offering the free web seminars to homeowners throughout the UK, however they are expected to be hugely popular. Sean Collier adds “The number of places on each web seminar is limited, as we aim to provide a rather relaxed and informal session”. Interested individuals can sign-up for the seminar via the installers website www.accessrenewables.co.uk and can do so from any Internet-connected PC.

There are also plans to extend the seminars to introduce renewable energy to small and medium-sized businesses, to introduce them to the various tax savings and finance options available. Access Renewables are also believed to be the first renewable energy installer in the country to use web seminars as a way of interacting with potential customers.

Repairing Britain is designed to boost the UK economy by stimulating the construction industry and encouraging the public and local authorities to take an interest in the maintenance of their homes and community buildings.

Based in County Durham, Access Renewables is a fresh, innovative company providing retro-fit renewable energy systems to housing stocks of local authorities and housing associations and is actively involved in schemes to retrofit properties throughout the UK.

The Company installs systems which are designed to address the global threat of climate change by reducing CO2 emissions. These include Solar Photovoltaic, Solar Thermal, Wind Turbines, Ground and Air-source Heat Pumps and Rainwater Harvesting.

Access Renewables envisages that renewable energy systems will be in operation in all buildings in the future, delivering clean power and achieving significant reductions in carbon emissions, and is dedicated to reducing the CO2 emissions of all clients, large or small.

As part of its support for Repairing Britain, Access Renewables will encourage its employees, customers and potential to sign the campaign’s petition on the Downing Street website, requesting a reduction in VAT on property repair work to 5 percent.

Sean Collier of Access Renewables said:

“Our business aims to reduce the carbon emissions of buildings through the effective use of renewable energy. There is a natural synergy between the Repairing Britain campaign and our own values which is why we support it fully. We are encouraging anyone we are in contact with to sign the petition requesting a reduction in VAT on property repair which would aid the construction industry economy immensely.”

 Vicky Banham, campaign spokesman, said:

“As a company we are striving to reduce our carbon emissions and helping customers to do so which gives us goals in common with Access Renewables. It is encouraging to see, on a weekly basis, more like minded companies joining our cause and recognising the contribution the campaign could make to reducing emissions from the built environment.”

Expansion plans announced…

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

A new renewable energy company set-up in the North East has announced ambitious plans for expansion, bucking the national trend of job losses and cut-backs.

County Durham-based Access Renewables plan to bring around 10 new jobs to the area in the next 12 to 18 months to cope with the rising demand for its renewable energy products and services, which include solar panels and wind turbines. The jobs are expected to be within the specialist installation teams, which are highly-trained to install the systems.

The company was launched earlier this year by experienced industry professionals from the area, and since launch has secured a number of contracts and distributorship agreements as the country embraces the green approach to generating heat and power using renewable sources.

To aid the growth of the business, the company managed to secure funding and expertise from the North East England Investment Centre which will accelerate its growth, bringing much needed jobs to the area sooner.

Karen Jones, Managing Director said “The north east is an ideal location to start and grow a business due to its excellent support facilities, and even more so that it’s regarded as the worldwide expertise centre for renewable energy technologies.”

The company was started by Karen Jones and Sean Collier, two business leaders from Teesside who have been involved in the renewable energy industry for some time. Having worked for another company in the industry, they felt the time was right to create a new company committed to reducing the carbon emissions to clients who are keen to embrace innovative technologies, whilst securing a reliable and green source of energy.

Karen Jones also comments “We are looking forward to expanding our business using the excellent resources available in the North East.”
